The drastic shift to remote work has changed the way many businesses operate, accelerating the shift away from inflexible legacy systems and on-premise solutions to flexible and accessible Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud-based options. Flexibility has been the number one priority in order to ensure business as usual in the most unusual of times. However, in the rush to get new systems and solutions online in hopes of avoiding business grinding to a halt, system security was often lower down the priority list than it would be in normal circumstances. When evaluating any Software as a Service solution, SaaS Security should be a top priority for all modern-day publishers, advertisers, and agencies to ensure your business remains secure and successful.

Implementing data security measures not only helps avoid data breaches but also protects your organization against unnecessary financial costs, loss of public trust, and potential threats to brand reputation and future profits. Many on-premise or legacy systems struggle to offer the comprehensive levels of SaaS security required in today’s market, where increasing numbers of cyberattacks have become genuine concerns for businesses across the board. As such this should be at the forefront of your mind when choosing any SaaS software solution for your business.

Building ADvendio On A Secure Foundation

ADvendio has always known the importance of security particularly in the SaaS environment where customers may fear the cloud as being a vulnerable location for their sensitive business data. This is why from the outset ADvendio chose Salesforce as the underlying technology for their platform. Developing the ADvendio product on top of a world-leading cloud-computing platform allowed ADvendio to focus on developing and enhancing media industry specific core functionality that benefits publishers, advertisers, and agencies, rather than utilizing resources to maintain system security.

As a world leader in cloud computing, it is no surprise that Salesforce has always held client data security high on their list of priorities. This is clearly demonstrated by their compliance with a number of international standards including PCI DSS, FISMA, ISO/IEC 27001:2005, SAS 70 Type II, SysTrust, and Eu-US and Swiss-US Safe Harbor.

The Salesforce security team also conducts rigorous reviews of all new applications before they are publicly listed on the Salesforce AppExchange. This benefits the end-user of a Salesforce partner system by making it clear to would-be application developers exactly what is required to meet the high SaaS security standards that applications on the Salesforce platform must meet. This ensures that all ADvendio customers can feel confident in knowing that we offer the highest level of protection for their data. This also includes regular comprehensive security reviews of all partner apps after a number of years in service to guarantee customer trust and data protection at all times.

SaaS Security Enhancements for ADvendio in 2021

As part of the regular Salesforce Security Review, conducted in Q4 2020, ADvendio has undergone a number of enhancements across our product to ensure the highest standard of security for all ADvendio customers. As a result of this, we strongly recommend that all ADvendio customers review our Security Review Communication 2020/2021 documentation for information on key aspects of the implemented security enhancements that may require review from your system administrator.

Looking ahead to 2021 ADvendio will continue to prioritize the security of our system for our customers by partaking in certification and accreditations to demonstrate the security and reliability of our solution, including currently ongoing work to finalize our ISO accreditation in Q1 2021. ISO ( International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental, international organization that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems. ISO certification certifies that a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure has all the requirements for standardization and quality assurance. By engaging in this process ADvendio hopes to demonstrate to customers that their data and business continuity is at the forefront of our solution to ensure happy customers now and into the future.
